In 1370 the Polish king, Casimir III the Great, fearing the growing Lithuanian influence in Galicia-Volhynia, dispatched a candidate named Antonii (see Metropolitan Antonii) to Patriarch Philotheos for consecration as metropolitan of a renewed and autonomous Halych metropoly.

Halych [Halyč]. Map: IV-5. City (2001 pop 6,495) at the confluence of the Lukva River and Dniester River, raion center of Ivano-Frankivsk oblast. It arose in the 14th century, some time after the Mongols destroyed princely Halych, on the site of the city's river port 5 km north of the city.

Before 1387 village was an outpost on the approaches to the capital HALYCH (Galic / Halicz /Galicz) of the Ruthenian (Ukrainian) Kingdom / Principality of Galicia. It is about 35 km to Halych from Pidvysoke.

Krylos Is a small village by Halych. Earlier it was the heart of ancient Halych. Archeologists conducted and still conduct series of archeological excavations discovering the material culture of this old setlement, which played an important role in Medieval times.
