Chephren

Cheops, Chephren, and Mycerinus continually added to the height and mass of their tombs until death put an end to the work.

For either Chephren knew the purpose for which the Great Pyramid was built, or he did not know it.

Cheops reigned 50 years and was succeeded by his brother, Chephren, who reigned 56 years and built the second pyramid.

The chair is without a back, and, curiously enough, the head is that of a much older man than the Chephren of the diorite statue.

The legs are longer, the torso more flexible, than in the statue of Chephren and other productions of the early centuries.
