Demetrias

He changed the name as well as the situation of the city, and instead of Sikyon named it Demetrias.

Demetrias was founded by Demetrius Poliorcetes, who called it after his own name.

On the news of the king's arrival, ambassadors from his allies came to Demetrias from all sides.

His remains were given to Antigonus, honoured with a splendid funeral at Corinth, and thence conveyed to Demetrias.

He then hesitated whether he should first attack Demetrias, or take a view of affairs in Bœotia.
