He passed the strait of Magallanes and one of the ships returned to Santiago de Cuba.

Magallanes, however, seized them all, for most of the crew were in his favor.

Magallanes ordered the ship ‘Santiago’ to sail forward for about 50 leguas to see whether there was any passage.

Then they tried to rise against Magallanes and kill him, and go back to Castilla or to Rodas.

They had also been taken possession of for Spain by Magallanes.
