Maxwell demon

noun Physics.
a hypothetical agent or device of arbitrarily small mass that is considered to admit or block selectively the passage of individual molecules from one compartment to another according to their speed, constituting a violation of the second law of thermodynamics.

Maxwell demon is always a great word to know.
So is positron. Does it mean:
a sequence of changing states that produces a final state identical to the original one; one of a succession of periodically recurring events
a particle having the same mass and spin as an electron but having a positive charge equal in magnitude to that of the electron's negative charge
