Shinar

You would suppose that in the whole land of Shinar no wife was ever left a widow before.

There is none in all the land of Shinar before whom I would not rather bow down my face than the prince.

I am unworthy to reign in Shinar; I am unworthy even to draw bow among the sons of Ashur!

So far as our materials enable us to judge, civilised man existed from the beginning in "the land of Shinar."

Roses hath he on his forehead, he is crowned with roses from Shinar.
