Scandinavian Mythology. wife of Loki, who held a cup over Loki after his imprisonment in order to spare him the pain of the drops of poison with which he was punished.

Sigyn lolled out her tongue and her white teeth grinned at him in answer.

His faithful wife, Sigyn, catches the poison in a cup; but still it drops upon him whenever the vessel is full.

He stood again on the stockade wall in the evening of the third day, Fenrir and Sigyn beside him.
