Spin"ny\, n.; pl. Spinnies. [OF. espinaye,espinoye, espinei, espanoi, F. ['e]pinaie, from L. spinetum a thicket of thorns, fr. spina a thorn. See Spine.] A small thicket or grove with undergrowth; a clump of trees. [Written also spinney, and spinny.]
