a disease characterized by asthenia, low blood pressure, and a brownish coloration of the skin, due to decreased secretion of cortisol from the adrenal cortex, resulting in hypoadrenalism.

A disease caused by partial or total failure of adrenocortical function, characterized by a bronzelike pigmentation of the skin and mucous membranes, anemia, weakness, nausea, and low blood pressure. Also called bronzed disease, chronic adrenocortical insufficiency.
