Am*phit"ro*pal\ (-pal), Amphitropous \Am*phit"ro*pous\ (-p[u^]s), a. [Gr. 'amfi` + tre`pein to turn.] (Bot.) Having the ovule inverted, but with the attachment near the middle of one side; half anatropous.
