apertognathia a·per·tog·na·thi·a (ə-pûr'tŏg-nā'thē-ə, -tō-nāth'ē-ə) n. A type of malocclusion characterized by the premature occlusion of posterior teeth and the absence of anterior occlusion. Also called open bite.
