Arena Chapel

The Arena Chapel stands apart, and is approached, at present, through a pretty garden.

The next morning they spent among Giotto's frescoes, over thirty of which literally cover the walls of the Arena Chapel.

The frescoes of the Arena chapel must have been a labour of years, and of the date of their termination we have no proof.

Giotto represents this vice under the same symbol; but it is the weakest of all the figures in the Arena Chapel.

Of all the compositions in the Arena Chapel I think this the most characteristic of the noble time in which it was done.
