arterial nephrosclerosis or ar·te·ri·o·neph·ro·scle·ro·sis (är-tēr'ē-ō-něf'rō-sklə-rō'sĭs)
n.
Patchy atrophic scarring of the kidney due to arteriosclerotic narrowing of the lumens of large branches of the renal artery; it occurs in the aged or in hypertensive persons and occasionally causes hypertension.
