A"the*ous\, a. [Gr. ? without God. See Atheist.]

1. Atheistic; impious. [Obs.] --Milton.

2. Without God, neither accepting nor denying him.

I should say science was atheous, and therefore could not be atheistic. --Bp. of Carlisle.
