a condition of low priority or temporary deferment (usually used in the phrase on the back burner ): Put other issues on the back burner until after the election.

Origin:
1945–50; from the custom in cooking of placing pots not requiring immediate attention toward the rear of the stove

Back burner is always a great word to know.
So is zedonk. Does it mean:
a calculus or concretion found in the stomach or intestines of certain animals, esp. ruminants, formerly reputed to be an effective remedy for poison.
the offspring of a zebra and a donkey.
