backplane definition

hardware, electronics
A printed circuit board with slots into which other cards are plugged.
A backplane,is typically just a connector and does not usually have many active components on it. This contrasts with a motherboard.

Backplane is always a great word to know.
So is zedonk. Does it mean:
a children's mummer's parade, as on the Fourth of July, with prizes for the best costumes.
