an analgesic mixture, usually containing morphine and cocaine and sometimes other narcotic substances in an alcohol solution, administered primarily to advanced cancer patients.
Also, Brompton's mixture.
Also called Brompton cocktail, Brompton's cocktail.

1975–80; after Brompton Hospital, London, where the mixture was developed
