an inflammatory and obliterative disease of the blood vessels of the legs and feet causing numbness and tingling, often leading to phlebitis and gangrene: most common in cigarette smokers.

Origin:
named after Leo Buerger (1879–1943), U.S. physician, who described it in 1908
