buphthalmia buph·thal·mi·a (bōōf-thāl'mē-ə, byōōf-) or buph·thal·mos (-məs, -mŏs') or buph·thal·mus (-məs)
A disease of infancy marked by an increase of intraocular fluid and consequent enlargement of the eyeball. Also called congenital glaucoma.
