Calmette-Guérin bacillus Cal·mette-Gué·rin bacillus (kāl-mět'gā-rān', käl-mět'gā-rāɴ')
An attenuated strain of tubercle bacillus grown in repeated cultures on medium containing bile and used in tuberculosis vaccines. Also called bacille bilie de Calmette-Guérin.
