cavernous body n.

  1. Either of two parallel columns of erectile tissue forming the body of the clitoris; cavernous body of clitoris.

  2. Either of two parallel columns of erectile tissue forming the dorsal part of the body of the penis; cavernous body of penis.

  3. The median column of erectile tissue located between and ventral to the two cavernous bodies of the penis, expanding posteriorly into the bulb of the penis and terminating anteriorly as the enlarged glans penis; spongy body of penis.
