cervical iliocostal muscle n.
A muscle with its origin from the angles of the upper six ribs, with insertion to the transverse processes of the middle cervical vertebrae, with nerve supply from the upper thoracic nerves, and whose action extends, abducts, and rotates the cervical vertebrae.
