Clem·ens   (klěm'ənz)   
American baseball player. As a right-handed pitcher mainly with the Boston Red Sox (1985-1996), he set (1986) a major-league record for single game strikeouts at 20, tying that record again in 1996. He earned his unprecedented fifth Cy Young Award in 1998.
