Corporation for Research and Educational Networking definition

(CREN) The organisation responsible for providing networking service to BITNET and CSNET users. CREN was formed in October 1989, when BITNET and CSNET were combined under one authority. CSNET is no longer operational, but CREN still runs BITNET.
