A test for physical condition and resistance in which one's pulse and blood pressure are recorded both in the recumbent and in the standing position, and the difference is graded from theoretical perfection (100) downward. High values indicate a good physical resistance, but low ones may indicate general weakness and a potential for shock after surgery.
