cycloalkane   (sī'klō-āl'kān)  Pronunciation Key 
Any of various cyclic saturated hydrocarbons having the general formula CnH2n. Cycloalkanes are alkanes formed into a closed ring. They are one of the three main constituents of crude oil, the other two being alkanes and aromatic compounds. Also called naphthene.
