Querávain /ker-van/, Fritz de (1868–1940), Swissphysician. The author of a major text on surgery, Quervain was known for his work on the pathology and surgery of the thyroid. He worked also on the prevention of goiter. He described the inflammatoryprocess now known as deQuervain's disease in 1895.
