Dientamoeba fragilis Di·ent·a·moe·ba frag·i·lis (dī-ěn'tə-mē'bə frāj'ə-lĭs)
A small amoeba that is parasitic in the large intestine and is capable of causing low-grade inflammation coupled with mucous diarrhea and gastrointestinal disturbance.
