Direct lighting means that the rays from the lamp go directly into the room (Fig. 45).

For direct lighting, the engine must be governed so as not to vary more than five per cent in speed between no load and full load.

This difficulty may be due to the poor contrast of the ridges and furrows when using direct lighting.

When photographing a small curved surface such as a test tube, direct lighting will usually create a high light.

Don't try to operate your spark coil with 110-volt direct lighting current without connecting in a rheostat.
