donovanosis don·o·va·no·sis (dŏn'ə-və-nō'sĭs)
A chronic destructive ulceration of the inguinal region and the external genitalia caused by Calymmatobacterium granulomatis, which is observed intracellularly as Leishman-Donovan bodies in the infected tissue. Also called granuloma inguinale.
