n. pl. Duwamish or Du·wa·mish·es also Dwamish or Dwa·mish·es

1. A Native American people formerly inhabiting an area of the eastern shore of Puget Sound near present-day Seattle, Washington. The Duwamish became extinct as a people in the 20th century.
2. A member of this people.
