Egg-bird

Egg"-bird`\, n. (Zo["o]l.) A species of tern, esp. the sooty tern (Sterna fuliginosa) of the West Indies. In the Bahama Islands the name is applied to the tropic bird, Pha["e]thon flavirostris.
