epigastric artery n.

  1. An artery with its origin in the external iliac artery and with cremasteric, muscular, and pubic branches; inferior epigastric artery.

  2. An artery with origin in the femoral artery and with distribution to the inguinal glands and integument of the lower abdomen; superficial epigastric artery.

  3. An artery with origin in the medial terminal branch of the internal thoracic artery and with distribution to the abdominal muscles and integument and the falciform ligament; superior epigastric artery.
