Esk.

The little river, the Esk, runs through a deep valley, which broadens out as it comes near the harbour.

The view up the Esk at this place is one of the most picturesque in the colony.

It is watered by the North Esk, on which are two flour mills, and a bridge.

Up on that high ground you can see right across the valley of the Esk in both directions.

So we went east by the beach of the sea, towards where the salt-pans were smoking, in by the Esk mouth.
