eunomius

extreme proponent of Arianism (q.v.). With the Arian philosopher and bishop Aetius, he established the Eunomian sect (see Anomoean), which, although it had an ecclesiastical organization (centred on Constantinople) and several bishops, did not long survive Eunomius.
