furo
Japanese-style bath, typically using water heated to 110 F (43.3 C) or hotter. It is claimed that, because the bather may linger in the wooden or metal tub, the furo may have properties for the therapeutic relaxation of tensions. To achieve cleanliness, the bather washes before entering the tub. In bathrooms in private Japanese homes and in public bathhouses, the bathing facilities are always constructed separately from the washing and toilet facilities.
