giant cell tumor of tendon sheath n.
A nodule, possibly inflammatory, that usually develops from the flexor sheath of the fingers and thumb and is composed of fibrous tissue, multinucleated giant cells, and lipid- and hemosiderin-containing macrophages. Also called localized nodular tenosynovitis.
