glossitis

Mercurial Glossitis may accompany mercurial stomatitis (p. 496).

The tertiary manifestations in the tongue are sclerosing glossitis, gummas, and gummatous ulcers.

Glossitis, or inflammation of the tongue, is very similar to stomatitis, and mostly exists with it and is due to the same causes.

Superficial glossitis, however, sometimes terminates in parenchymatous glossitis.

Papill and glands are usually affected together in superficial glossitis.
