Gro·my·ko  (grə-mē'kō, grō-)  Soviet political leader who served as ambassador to the United States (1943-1946) and the United Nations (1946-1948). He later held the posts of foreign minister (1957-1983) and chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet (1983-1988). |
