a relatively rare feldspathoid mineral related to sodalite: sometimes confused with lapis lazuli.
Also, haüyne [ah-ween] .

1865–70; < French haüyne (Haüy + -(i)ne -ine1, after R. Haüy (1743–1822), French mineralogist) + -ite1
