hematoporphyrin he·ma·to·por·phy·rin (hē'mə-tō-pôr'fə-rĭn, hĭ-māt'ə-)
n.
A porphyrin that does not contain iron and is formed when heme or hemoglobin is decomposed by an acid. Also called hemoporphyrin.
