This bird of prey is about the size of the common house crow.

The explanation is, of course, that the house-crow absorbs all the attention that man has to bestow upon the sable-plumaged tribe.

Chief of these is that arch-villain Corvus splendens—the Indian house-crow.

The house-sparrow, like the house-crow, is a bird of the plains rather than of the hills.

The caw of the house-crow is replaced by the deeper note of the corby.
