hyperoxia hy·per·ox·i·a (hī'pər-ŏk'sē-ə)

  1. An excess of oxygen in tissues and organs.

  2. A higher than normal oxygen tension, such as that produced by breathing air or oxygen at greater than atmospheric pressures.
