Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS)
- A private organization that provides proxy voting and corporate governance services to institutional investors. The firm evaluates proxy proposals and makes voting recommendations to its clients. ISS was an important player in the proxy fight over Hewlett-Packard's proposed acquisition of Compaq.
