Kamehameha I

The accompanying sketch is from a necklace that belonged to King Kamehameha I., and was given to me by one of his descendants.

Kamehameha I. was born for the age in which he lived, the age of war and of conquest.

Other people believe that Kamehameha I. fought his first battle here.

Over one of these Kamehameha I. drove the defeated warriors of Oahu, in his last battle on the island.

This Kamehameha I. must have been anything but a nice sort of person.
