Khalid

king of Saudi Arabia (1975-82), who succeeded his half brother Faysal as king when Faysal was assassinated in 1975. A moderate influence in Middle East politics and a relatively retiring man, he left much of the administration of the country to his half brother Prince Fahd, who became his successor.
