kynurenine kyn·u·re·nine (kīn-yur'ə-nēn', kĭn-, kī'nyu-rē'nĭn, -rěn'ĭn, kĭn'yu-)
n.
An amino acid that is a precursor of kynurenic acid and that is excreted in small amounts in the urine as a product of the metabolism of tryptophan.
