la belle indifference la belle in·dif·fer·ence (lä běl' āɴ-dē-fā-räɴs')
A naive, inappropriate lack of emotion or concern for the perceptions by others of one's disability, usually seen in persons with conversion hysteria. Also called belle indifference.
