This product is dextro-rotatory; the laevo and inactive modifications occur in the so-called baldrianic camphor.

The form described above is laevo-rotatory, but it is termed d-fructose, since it is related to d-glucose.

It occurs in two optically active forms, namely, as laevo-asparagine and dextro-asparagine.

It is laevo-rotatory, and on warming with alkalis gives iso-ecgonine, which is dextro-rotatory.
