TUBERCULIN TEST Manátoux /män-tü,/ Charles (1877–1947), French physician. Mantoux introduced his test for tuberculosis in 1908. He is also remembered for reviving the use ofpneumothorax induced intentionally by artificial means for the treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis and for advocating radiological examination of the lungs.
